Portal Mode

Portal Mode adds two linked teleport cells, A and B, to the standard 16×16 board. When a sliding robot crosses portal A, it instantly emerges from portal B and keeps sliding in the same direction. The teleport only fires once per move, and if the exit portal already has a robot resting on top of it, the slide simply continues through portal A without teleporting. The classic stop-on-collision rule still applies — robots only halt at walls, board edges, or other robots.
Portals reshape route design. A column that previously had no stopper can now be used as an arrival lane if portal A on that column exits portal B next to a wall. Reverse-route planning still works, but you must check whether your final approach passes through a portal and whether the destination lane on the other side actually has a stopper. A robot can also be parked on portal B as a helper, which silently disables the teleport from A for any subsequent slides into A.
Reset the round any time to explore alternative portal routings, and use the in-game guide to review the teleport rules. Portal Mode has no time limit and no leaderboard — it is a strategic ruleset variant designed for players who want to add a spatial twist to the classic Ricocheto puzzle. Keyboard, touch, and mouse controls are all supported.
